2nd Annual Apple Festival and Apple Baking Contest Sept. 14
Come to the Douglas Orchard & Farm to pick your own apples, be entertained by local musicians and dancers, participate in a book trail, and visit the South 9 Food Truck and B. Food pop-up. Douglas Orchard & Farm’s apples are minimally sprayed to be more healthful than traditional chemically sprayed apples. Festival hours are noon to 5 p.m.

Stay for the evening outdoor concert with the Holdin’ Back Band, from 6 to 8 p.m. This is a band for all ages, with oldies, rock, bandstand, and singalong music.
Douglas Orchard & Farm is at 36 Locust Street in Douglas. Apple Festival entry is $5 per person; Holdin’ Back Band entry is $10; combo deal is $10 to attend the festival and the concert. Kids under 16 are free.
