The Federated Church of Sturbridge and Fiskdale will hold its 66th Annual Antique Auction on Saturday, August 13, 2016, on the beautiful Sturbridge Common. This auction is now known as the longest annually held church auction in the nation. It will be held, rain or shine, under the tents, starting at 10:00 a.m. (It is always held the second Saturday in August.) The preview of items to be sold begins at 9:00 a.m., along with a high-quality Craft Booth, Bake Sale, and Food Booth. The Auction is open to the general public with ample free parking around the Common and Church.
This auction is one of the best highlights of the summer in Sturbridge and shouldn’t be missed. Once again, the featured items will include the now famous Sturbridge Scene Chair, #18 in a series and, the “Publick House Chair,” #44. These two chairs are highly prized as there is only one each, per year, available at the auction.
The auction will include several items, many in original condition as well as some that have required loving restoration.
Our auction is the very best because of the highly professional and entertaining leadership provided by the Robert H. Glass family of auctioneers. This is their 43rd year with us, and Robert Jr., and Gwen Glass Carbone, are so delightful as they create a fun-filled day for all of us, young and old.
Thank you for putting us on your calendar of events to attend. See you Saturday, August 13, 2016.
