On Saturday, January 7, Annie’s Book Stop of Worcester is happy to welcome author James Chambers to our 65 James Street store with fiction and graphic novels continuing the adventues of the iconic Kolchak the Night Stalker. Chambers will be in the store from 3:00 – 5:00 talking about his work and signing.

Kolchak the Night Stalk, credited by X-Files creator Chris Carter as one of the main inspirations for the series, was an American television series that ran from 1974-1975 started with two made-for-television movies, The Night Stalker and The Night Strangler. It lived on through fandom and a reboot in 2005—and continues on with Moonstone Books, as fiction and graphic novels. Chicago Reporter Carl Kolchak investigates the odd and mysterious crimes that the police have dropped—leading him into the realm of supernatural: vampires, werewolves, aliens, androids, spirits, cryptids and more.

James Chambers writes tales of horror, crime, fantasy, and science fiction. He is the author of The Engines of Sacrifice, a collection of four Lovecraftian-inspired, which Publisher’s Weekly described as “…chillingly evocative….” He is also the author of the short fiction collections Resurrection House and The Midnight Hour: Saint Lawn Hill and Other Tales, a collaboration with illustrator Jason Whitley; a dark, urban fantasy novella, Three Chords of Chaos; as well as The Dead Bear Witness and Tears of Blood, volume one and two in his Corpse Fauna novella series. He also has short stories published in a number of anthologies, magazines, and other publications. Chambers has written a few Kolchak adventures, the most recent included in the graphic novel Kolchak: The Night Stalker, The Forgotten Lore of Edgar Allen Poe.
