Charlton Police Department donates to Cancer Center at Harrington

The Cancer Center at Harrington received a check for $1,300 from the Charlton Police Department on behalf of its fundraising efforts for the Pink Patch Project. The Charlton Police Explorers, Police Department and Charlton Dudley Youth Football and Cheer teamed up to sell over 100 patches, with 100% of the proceeds going toward The Cancer Center in Southbridge. Retired Police Detective Mike McGrath said it was important for the group that the money raised directly supports patients in treatment. The Cancer Center has a dedicated fund that helps patients and their families with co-pay assistance, medication expenses, transportation and other helpful items. The CDYFC donated their concession stand tip jar during a few home games, and the Police also set up a table at Treehouse Brewing Company in October. Many, many thanks to our wonderful, supportive community for the generous donation, which will assist so many patients who live right in south central Massachusetts.
