Fallon Health the presenting sponsor for the Annual Safe Homes Gala and People of Courage Awards

(Worcester, MA – DATE, 2019) Open Sky Community Services is pleased to announce that Fallon Health has signed on as the presenting sponsor for the Annual Safe Homes Gala and People of Courage Awards to be held at the new AC Marriott on May 3 in Worcester.

“As presenting sponsor for the past seven years, Fallon’s continued sponsorship of the Gala speaks volumes about their commitment to the LGBTQ+ community,” said Ken Bates, President and CEO ofOpen Sky Community Services. “Their generous support of the Safe Homes program has made a tremendous difference for vulnerable youth in the region and is a prime example of supportive and caring corporate social responsibility.”

Safe Homes is an Open Sky program providing a Drop-In Center and peer-led services and supports for LGBTQ+ youth ages 14-23. Safe Homes serves more than 300 youth per year, providing leadership development, educational support, peer support and mental health counseling at no cost to participants.

The program is supported in part by grants from The United Way of Central Massachusetts, Greater Worcester Community Foundation, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and others.

The Safe Homes Gala will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 beginning with a VIP Reception, followed by a reception, dinner, awards, silent auction, and entertainment by Dale LePage. The 2019 theme is “Legacy of Courage” with the awardees having all demonstrated willingness to stand up in support of respect, recognition and inclusion for LGBTQ+ communities in Central Massachusetts.
