AUBURN – There are less than two weeks left to vote for the best businesses in Auburn. The Auburn Chamber of Commerce sponsors the bi-annual Best of Auburn Business Contest, which is designed to allow the community to vote for their favorite businesses.
The contest began ten years ago after several years of a successful Best Dressed Business contest, which was intended to bring attention to businesses’ façades and landscaping, said Eleanor Houbre, director of chamber services. It was then expanded to encompass all aspects of a business, rather than just beautification, though the best dressed category is still part of it.
The categories include food/beverage, entertainment, business/service, and best dressed.” The survey has a total of 30 questions.
All entries must be submitted online by August 31, and only one entry per computer will be accepted.
To enter, go to the Auburn Chamber of Commerce website at www.auburnchamberma.com.
The chairman of the contest is Sheila Barter. She manages the marketing and promotion, displays posters all over town, and when it’s over, hand-counts every ballot. Since the questions are open-ended, fill-in-the-blank, the results can’t be easily automated.
Winners will be announced and awarded at the Auburn Chamber’s Membership Breakfast on October 8 at Pakachoag Church, 203 Pakachoag Street in Auburn.
