The date of Saturday, August 18th from 12 – 4 pm has been set for the Grand Opening of the Grafton Historical Society’s new location at 71 Main Street, South Grafton. Artifacts and documents housed in the new location will surely impress you. The afternoon will include many fun activities. See if you can identify some of the non-electric items in our collection. Along with tours of the museum visitors will be able to stop outside to view the vast vintage tool collection of Mr. Ken Either.
It is our pleasure to make history come alive and have a meaningful message about the unique town of Grafton, cherished by longtime residents and newcomers alike. Did you know that Charles Lindberg, Frederick Douglass, and Theodore Roosevelt were among those that visited Grafton?
Just a short walk away, at Mill Village Park you can view the “Little Bank Building” once located not far from this spot and used frequently by the Mill workers in South Grafton. This location, weather permitting, will have several Antique Cars and Antique State Police Vehicles. Joanne Bella who makes beautiful handmade Nantucket Baskets will be displaying her craft. Children will want to take part in the story walk all about the “Little House” that had to move, or try your luck at identifying 16 structures from Grafton’s common area from the clue sheet.
