Helping Uxbridge Seniors

In response to the COVID pandemic, our local senior residents need a little helping hand.  The spread of COVID-19 and the economic shutdown it has triggered are hitting hardest the most vulnerable seniors in our community. Some are forced to make impossible choices between essentials- food, prescription medications, medical attention, or rent. The Uxbridge Senior Center in collaboration with the Town of Uxbridge Board of Selectmen act to change this.

The Uxbridge Senior Center recently distributed Hannaford’s gift cards to residents in need at a drive thru event at McCloskey School. The senior center is also delivering a hot lunch and a bag sandwich two days a week to residents of the Crown N’ Eagle, Blanchard School Apartments, Calumet Court, Centennial Court and Veterans Parkway residents.

Even though the senior center is closed, staff are reaching out and assisting our residents during this unprecedented time. Supporting our community and each other during this crisis is imperative. The Uxbridge Senior Center is dedicated to providing local community programs, initiatives and assistance to help our community members including the young disabled and old through these difficult times.

The senior center is located at 36 South Main Street in Uxbridge.  For more information on future initiatives and assistance, please call the Uxbridge Senior Center at 508-278-8622.
