BOSTON – Representative David K. Muradian, Jr., (R-Grafton) is happy to announce that the Registry of Motor Vehicles is currently taking applications for the 2017 Low Number Plate Lottery.
In 2016, the Registry received approximately 8,600 applications for the 183 plates being offered. This was a whopping 2,600 increase from the previous year. The overwhelmingly positive result encouraged the RMV to offer a Low Number Plate Lottery again in 2017. This year, there are 162 plates that are being offered. Available plates include 4455, 8888, 33E, 8J, M88, and X1. Low number plates must be renewed every two years.
Applicants can apply this year via online or through US Mail. To do so, customers will be able to enter by visiting https://secure.rmv.state.ma.us/myPlateLotto/. Mail in applications are available for download at www.MassRMV.com, or at Registry service center locations across the Commonwealth. Applicants should note that there is no fee to apply however, should the applicant be selected as a winner there is a registration fee that will be required.
“The Low Number Plate Lottery is an exciting program that the Registry of Motor Vehicles is happy to offer again this year,” said Representative Muradian. “I encourage all who are interested to apply sooner rather than later, as the deadline is approaching quickly!”
Applications must be received online or postmarked by August 25, 2017, in order for the applicant to be eligible. Winners will be announced by September 15, 2017 and posted to the Registry website.
