Organizations, schools, and individuals may apply for local grants made available to the town of Mendon from the Massachusetts Council, a state agency which distributes funds to the community. Massachusetts has one of the largest networks of local cultural councils in the nation, supporting over 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCC) serving all 351 towns in the Commonwealth.

Funds are used to support events in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences, and open to the community. In the past, the council has supported events such as Yankee Notions folk music, Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band, Mendon 350th Anniversary “Mother Mendon Sings” choral event, and Holocaust Survivor Janet Applefield’s presentation at Mendon-Upton High School.

The council is seeking new members as well. Please contact Chair Joyce Firth at [email protected] if interested.
