The Millbury Youth Commission was formed in December of 2012. We are a committee of 6 volunteers who, on Friday nights during the months of September to June, open the Millbury Youth Group Center located at the McGrath Education Center 130 Elm St for children in grade 3 to grade 6.
Here at the center we have basketball, air hockey and dodgeball games to name a few. The kids have also enjoyed nights of educational classes, craft making, movie’s, karaoke and themed dances. We also sponsor events off site for all families of Millbury such as Bowling at Bowlero in Shrewsbury and Roller skating at Skylight in Worcester.
In June we end the school year with an event for the children; our past events have included themed outdoor dance, BBQ, moon bounces and last year we had a Family Fun Day for all families of Millbury. On this day we had moon bounces, musical entertainment, BMX Bike team and Pro Wrestling.
Although last year Fun Day was a success, the mist of rain limited the two hour Pro Wrestling show to an hour, so we decided to bring back Pro Wrestling as a family night calling it “Mill Town / Show Down” sponsored by the Millbury Youth Commission, The Marino Organization and Dunkin Donuts.
The Bell Time Club is a Pro Wrestling school out of Wakefield Ma with shows all over New England and recently announced a show at Fenway Park. They will be bringing their action pack two hour show to Millbury. This show of Pro Wrestlers will keep you on your toes and out of your seats with high flying off the top rope slams and finishing the night with an 8 man match calling it “Battle on the Run” sponsored by Dunkin Donuts. For more information about Bell Time Club Training Center you can visit their Facebook page.
Our event is on Saturday June 29, 2019. Gate opens at 4pm with live music entertainment at 5:00pm and the National Anthem will be performed by Millbury High School student Perry Drugan at 5:55pm. The Pro Wrestling show will begin at 6pm. Autographs will be available after the show.
The Location of this event is located on Canal St, a fenced grass field next to the Millbury Old Time Inn and the Millbury Lions Club 4th of July carnival at Windle Field.
Entering this event will be the low cost of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 16 and seniors over 60. We encourage people to bring chairs. There will be food and drinks for sale including Todd Willett from The Candy Shoppe with Dippin Dots. Handicap parking will be on site while all other parking will be in various spots around the area.
