Monday, March 5, 2018 - 7:00pm
Northbridge Historical Society will meet Monday, March 5, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitinsville Social Library.
The program is "A Walk Revisited." The Blackstone Canal, viable from 1828-1843, made Worcester a seaport and helped
turn communities along its path into engines of economic opportunity. Thirty years ago, Bill Ballou, Society member and
Telegram reporter set out to hike the 45 mile canal route from Worcester to Providence. In the fall of 2016 he decided to mark
the anniversary by making the four day journey again to see what has changed. The presentation is open to the public .
