Open Sky Community Services appoints new Chief Operating Officer and EVP/Chief Financial Officer

(Worcester, MA – January 22, 2020) Open Sky Community Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Small to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Anthony Consolmagno, MBA, CPA as its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

As the new COO, Small will provide executive support and oversight to the agency’s community services, human resources, clinical services, and community engagement and other agency-wide administrative functions that support service delivery. Matt will also be responsible for implementation of the organization's strategic plan to ensure that Open Sky is positioned for the future and able to respond to needs in the community.

Small has more than 25 years of experience in the field of human services, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Program Operations for The Home for Little Wanderers in Boston. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer, Director of Clinical Operations and Residential Program Director for Harbor Family Services in Northport, Maine. Matt has an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Bridgewater State College and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Simmons College.

Consolmagno was appointed CFO upon the retirement of Philip Ingersoll-Mahoney who prior to taking on the position at Open Sky, was the long-time CFO of Alternatives Unlimited, Inc. Alternatives and The Bridge of Central Massachusetts affiliated last year as Open Sky Community Services.

“We’re excited to have Anthony step into the CFO role and lead our finance and budget development processes and personnel,” said Bates. “His experience and qualifications will be instrumental as Open Sky continues to develop new and creative ways to provide essential services to our community.”

Consolmagno comes to Open Sky from AllWays Health Partners (formerly Neighborhood Health Plan), where he held several roles including Manager of Finance and Medical Economics, Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and most recently as Corporate Controller. Prior to joining AllWays Health Partners, Anthony worked for Reliant Medical Group as Senior Financial Analyst and Senior Business Analyst in their Office of Population Health.

Consolmagno is a Certified Public Accountant and received both his undergraduate degree in economics and management and his Master of Business Administration in accounting from Clark University. He has considerable experience in a wide array of financial functions, including analyzing financial performance drivers, finance operations, forecasting & budgeting, contract negotiation, regulatory reporting, and more.
