Oxford Lions donate to food shelf

Continuing a long tradition of charitable giving, the Oxford Lions club at a recent meeting presented a check to representatives of the Oxford Food Shelf in the amount of $2000.00.

Funds for the donation were raised at various Lions fundraisers held in the community. Through the generosity of these local churches, area businesses, the general public and organizations such as the Lions the Food shelf has assisted Oxford residents for over three decades. On behalf of my fellow Oxford Lions and those in the community that support our efforts we are honored to make this donation said Lions President Al DuBois. The contribution will allow the food shelf to purchase groceries and other necessities when supplies run low. The Oxford Food Shelf is operated by members of the Oxford Ecumenical Council. The Council is comprised of representatives from eight churches in the community.

To make a cash donation to the Oxford Food shelf please make checks or money orders payable to the OXFORD ECUMENICAL COUNCIL P.O. Box 448 North Oxford MA 01537. For more information about how to make others type of donations please visit the organizations website or call 508-987-1062.
