Stay Safe: Simon Fairfield Public Library, Douglas

Effective immediately, the Library is closed to the public. If you have holds on the shelf or expressed an interest in an e-reader yesterday, we will be contacting you to arrange pickup. We will also pull holds one last time at 11:00am to capture holds placed up to that point. After that, all non-digital activity is suspended until further notice.

If you have library materials out, do not worry about bringing them back until further notice. We are working with CWMARS to extend due dates and waive fines until the end of this crisis. In the meantime, don't worry if you see fines racking up on your account--they will be forgiven when they are returned. If you find that you cannot access electronic resources because of fines on your account, call us and we can take care of it. We are going to try to take care of this proactively, but it will take time.

If you need internet access on your laptop or phone, our wifi extends out into the parking lot so you can park and jump on to sync your kindles.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but rest assured that this is not an overreaction. We are the last library in CWMARS to take this drastic action.

Please check out the website. Every age group with one exception (51-60) already used the Library more digitally than physically. There is a lot you can access without coming in. If you need internet access on your laptop or phone, our wifi extends out into the parking lot so you can access it from your car.
