Alternatives and ValleyCAST are proud to announce the return of their Free Summer Concert Series featuring a wide variety of high quality music performed by some of Blackstone Valley’s local talent. The concert series, now in its 7th year, is one of the most popular events at the Whitin Mill drawing crowds of all ages and walks of life.
The concert series kicked off on Friday, June 30th at 6:00 and ended in time for the fireworks on Linwood Avenue. The series takes place from 6:00–8:00 p.m. every Thursday evening through August 31st at Alternatives’ Whitin Mill, 50 Douglas Road, Whitinsville, MA. Refreshments will be available for purchase from Uxbridge First Holiday Night. In case of inclement weather, the concert moves inside the Singh Performance Center at the same location. Uxbridge Holiday First Night will not be available if the concert moves indoors.
The concert series is sponsored by Lampin Corporation, UniBank, Alternatives and ValleyCAST. ValleyCAST is a nonprofit dedicated to building a creative, inclusive and prosperous community through the promotion, education and celebration of the culture, arts and sciences in the Blackstone Valley. ValleyCAST is a subsidiary of Alternatives, a non-profit organization committed to helping individuals with disabilities, throughout Central Massachusetts, build successful and satisfying lives in the community – lives that include real homes, real jobs and real relationships.
“These fabulous free concerts are our way of bringing people of all abilities together and also a way of giving back to the community,” says Cristi Collari, Director of Community Outreach at Alternatives. “We couldn’t offer them without the generosity of the bands and our sponsors.”
