The second Annual Wooed By The Food event promises to be even bigger and better than last year’s inaugural event, when 2500 attendees spent the day sampling a wide variety of food from popular food truck vendors. Most of them will be back for this year’s event on June 11, along with many more.
The Whitin Community Center’s food truck festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the center’s beautiful 7.5 acre Whitin Park on Hill Street. This year’s event will again encompass a wide variety of food truck vendors and event vendors from all around New England, with kids’ activities, a free bouncy house, food truck awards, 50/50 and raffles, and entertainment.
Cost of admission is $5 per person, ages 5 and under free. All proceeds will go directly to support the non-profit Whitin Community Center.
Among the 14 food truck vendors who had signed up as of April were Anzio’s Brick Oven Pizza, Captain Marden’s the Cod Squad, the Big Freezy, Wooberry Frozen Yogurt, Capriotti’s, Windsor Popcorn, Bit’Chin BBQ, and Wacky Candy Shack. Non-food vendors include Milford Federal Savings & Loan Association, Unibank, Uxborne Books, B&L Novelty, and doTERRA Essential Oils. Grafton Job Corps is the platinum sponsor for the event.
