Uxbridge High School Makes Top 10 in Educational Innovation
Uxbridge High School has been named a 2024 Education Innovation Showcase Top 10 Finalist for the annual ASU/GSV Showcase, one of the premier global events in educational innovation. Superintendent Michael Baldassarre, Principal Michael Rubin, and Director of Technology and Innovation Jess Brittingham shared the news recently.
The annual Education Innovation Showcase celebrates K-12 systems leaders advancing innovation and fostering meaningful change in their schools and communities. This year, the showcase will honor two innovations at different phases of the innovation curve Uxbridge High School’s application was submitted in the “impact” category.
This is the first time a Massachusetts program has been showcased at this conference.
The 2024 Education Innovation Showcase will take place on Tuesday, April 18 as part of the Arizona State University (ASU) and Global Silicon Valley (GSV) Summit, held at Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego.
Uxbridge High School submitted its proposal, “Uxbridge High School Innovation Pathways,” in January. As part of the application process, Uxbridge submitted a detailed description of the impact of the implementation of the schools’ innovation pathway programs.
Linking school, work and career placement, the Uxbridge High School Innovation Pathway and demic and authentic skills through pragmatic student experiences and outcomes. The partnership authenticates learning for students while enhancing career and college outcomes for the Blackstone Valley and beyond. UHS Pathways exist in Advanced Manufacturing, Biomedical Science, Global Business and Logistics, and Information Science/Digital Media.
As a result of achieving top 10 status, UHS Principal Mike Rubin will pitch the impact of the school’s career pathways to a panel of five judges during the 2024 Education Innovation Showcase. Uxbridge will compete against four other finalists in the impact phase during the showcase. Two of the five will be selected to present a longer version to the judges. The UHS program was already evaluated by a team of 12 judges who considered several hundred applicants from around the world in the impact category. The program is being emceed by Darryl McDaniels of RunDMC fame.

Two winners will be selected live, one for Idea and one for Impact.
