Town-wide Cleanup in Douglas

The Douglas Beautification Committee and Conservation Commission welcomes the residents of Douglas, and anyone passionate about the Blackstone Valley, to ‘Shake the Frost’-take part in a Town Wide cleanup of our roadways, woods, neighborhoods…wherever trash has found its way, that it doesn’t belong.
While this is an invitation for an on-going initiative through the month of April, we will specifically be hosting a trash pickup and drop off event Saturday, April 20 from 8am-2pm. This event is rain or shine. Safety vests, trash bags, pickers and gloves are available 4/20. Collected trash can be dropped at the Douglas Highway Garage 56 Main St. Douglas at the event set up. New this year: Special events are happening at The Town Common (take-home planting station at the Gazebo), The Simon Fairfield Library (face painting and crafts), The E.N Jenckes Store Museum (refreshments for event attendees), to name a few. Many other businesses in Douglas will be supporting this initiative too.
All ages are encouraged. This is a great opportunity for local groups and sports teams to work together to contribute time to their community. Students that need volunteer hours are welcome! We’ve had a great youth turnout in the last few years. Each bag or large item brought to the drop off site, will earn you a raffle ticket for a prize!
