Hometown Musical Heroes and Legends
Mill Villages Park in South Grafton will be the site of a free music concert at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 3 featuring three Grafton musicians. Bob Jordan, Rob Ledoux, and Joe Kuras - all Grafton High graduates – will feature in this premiere celebration of Grafton-bred talent.
Each of these “local legends” has made their mark in Grafton, and beyond, both in music and the arts.
Jordan, as a performer and recording artist, DJ, promoter and author has hosted concerts at Mill Villages Park in eight of the last 12 years. He lived in Grafton Center from 1949 to 2015 and now resides in Winchendon.
Kuras entertains with quirky songs on the five-string banjo. Joe has lived in South Grafton his whole life and has several published books under his belt, most notably, “Grafton Chronicles” with Jane Wilson.
Ledoux has fronted bands such as Hip Civilians, and the Brit Wits among many others and is an accomplished visual artist as well. Rob grew up on Airport Hill has traveled down the Blackstone to South Grafton where he now lives. He is currently presenting the ROB SHOW full-time at
elder facilities all over New England. In fact, all three musicians spend a lot of time entertaining at nursing homes, assisted living facilities and senior centers.
All ages are welcome, and seniors are especially welcome, as are any alumnae of Grafton High, with the classes of 1967, 1972, and 1979 being most welcome. We hope folks will be able to reconnect with old classmates and acquaintances while enjoying the diverse offerings of our three musicians.
The concert is made possible, in part, through the support of the Grafton Cultural Council with funds administered by the Mass. Cultural Council, a state agency. Homefield Credit Union and the Town of Grafton have provided additional support.
The rain date is Sunday, August 4 at 3 p.m.
